Introducing the Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award

The Community Foundation of Utah is excited to sponsor a new track in Utah’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition—the first ever Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

What is a social entrepreneur?  A social entrepreneur is someone who blends entrepreneurial practices with nonprofit causes. Organizations and individuals that developed innovative ways to solve complex social problems were invited to apply. The award winner will be announced at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Gala. The following are the three finalists:

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award is the world's most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs.  The award recognizes the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership, and achievement. It celebrates those who are building and leading successful, growing, and dynamic businesses.

We didn't attend but heard the event was very good. Hopefully social entrepreneurship continues to grow and expand. In Africa we've seen many good projects come of it. Thanks!
