Services to Donors

The Community Foundation of Utah offers our donors a place to learn, share and create change.

The Community Foundation will change Utah communities for the better and for the long-term by building and strengthening nonprofits so they generate high social rates of return on investment.

How? By building the capacity of the organizations that make our communities great places to live and by creating endowments to ensure they can focus on the issues now and in the future

• Due diligence: We can help you identify the outstanding nonprofits that are making a real difference in our community, and help you find the places and issues where you can make the biggest impact. We can research a topic or nonprofit in which you are interested and help you evaluate specific programs.
• Expertise: We encourage deep partnerships between the Foundation, its donors, and the organizations they support by providing access to expertise in governance, financial management, fund development, information technology, marketing and communications and program design and evaluation.
• Sustainability: We help entrepreneurs and nonprofits work together to design earned income strategies that can help reduce their dependence on donations and weather the uncertainty of economic cycles.
• Leverage: Creating change is easier when you are able to leverage your efforts with others. Our expertise in entrepreneurship and holistic view means we can leverage a broad base of knowledge to impact issues on a substantial scale.
• Accountability: We require transparency and encourage achievement and encourage innovation.  When a nonprofit wants to try something new we will work by their side to help them identify benchmarks, make mid course corrections, make real progress and achieve their goals.
• Paperwork: We take care of the paperwork so that you can enjoy the act of giving.
