A New Book on the Benefits of Funding Public Policy
A new book, "Foundations and Public Policy: Leveraging Philanthropic Dollars, Knowledge and Networks for Greater Impact", edited by James Ferris, espouses the benefits of foundations taking part in public policy as funders. Three topics are addressed: what factors are critical to a foundation's decision to engage in public policy, what strategic options are available for foundations that get involved in policy making, and what the implications are for foundations that use their assets in this way.
