The Utah Fund

Utah has learned the benefit of a Rainy Day Fund for core human services, roads and education. These endowments, held in community foundations across the country, are right now helping to hold communities intact. In Middle Tennessee, they helped clean up after the devastating floods. In states from California to New York, they are making grants to help people facing foreclosure, make up the gap between giving and need at food banks, and helping to cover deficits at core cultural institutions that are crucial to economic development and the very soul of a city.

Unlike all other states in the nation, Utah does not have a similar fund for the charitable organizations that serve its citizens.

The Community Foundation of Utah was formed to ensure that Utah has an endowment for future crises. The Utah Fund is the permanent grantmaking fund of The Community Foundation.  For generations to come, this endowment  -- built by all of us -- will address needs in the arts, health and human services, the environment, education, basic needs, youth, and civic life. It's flexible, it's responsive, and it's directed by members of the community.

  • Make the broadest impact on the community over time.
  • Recognize that community agencies and community needs change over time and allow the fund to remain flexible to respond to those changes.

Gifts of any size are welcome. Use our on line giving portal or call the foundation staff to make a gift at 801) 559-3005.  And thank you - for generations to come.
